National Hispanic Heritage Month starts this week and runs through October 15. The 2023 theme is Latinos: Driving Prosperity, Power, and Progress in America. According to the 2022 U.S. Census, nearly 64 million Hispanics live in the U.S., comprising 10 percent of the nations population; and over 27 percent of Floridas population of approximately 22.25 million people identifies as Hispanic. With its vast and vibrant Hispanic heritage and culture, Florida celebrates these communities and their contributions year-round, but here are additional special events and experiences to commemorate the observation.
Pepe Mar: Myth and Magic
Represented by David Castillo Gallery in the Miami Design District, Miami-based, Mexican artist Pepe Mar has a 15-year survey, his first, on view at the Tampa Museum of Art through February 18.
