FARMHOUSE FAMIGLIA

Before burrata was listed on every menu, Manhattans La Masseria made its own cows milk mozzarella daily to roll with seasonal ingredients. Now with locations in Rhode Island, and more recently, Palm Beach Gardens, the rustic trattoria (Its name translates to the historic farmhouses that dot the Old Countrys Puglia region.) continues the tradition along with making all its breads, pastas and desserts in-house. Other items are imported from Italy. Signatures like the house penne with smoked mozzarella, radicchio and bacon in a creamy tomato sauce can also be found at its Florida foray. The classic menu captures the simplicity of countryside cooking, as well as the nearby oceans bounty like grilled baby octopus and cuttlefish with broccoli rabe and tomato sauce-smothered, oven-roasted sea bream flecked with olives and capers.

LATIN LOVERS

Latin American art is on fire. Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, a massive survey organized by the Getty Foundation at museums and galleries throughout Southern California, focuses on Latin American and Latino art. The second installments exhibits and events (the first took place in 2011-12 and highlighted Los Angeles art scene) kick off now and last through January. Art Basel Cities: Buenos Aires is a new collaboration by the art fair and Argentinas capital to foster the citys vibrant culture from artists to nonprofits. The first order of business is lending structural support for the art community, including Art Basel Cities House to host workshops and talks from November 2-5, 2017. It sets the stage for a public art program next September. Pictured: Judithe Hernndezs The Purification for LA/LA.

SPA MONTH MULTIPLIES

Just when you thought being spoiled by Miami Spa Month was over, Fort Lauderdale follows with SPAtember for $99 treatments all over town. Its Ritz-Carlton pampers with a vitamin C, collagen facial and alpha beta peel, and a mani/pedi with a cooling foot mask and jojoba oil hand soak, among several services. Book two treatments to upgrade to a glass of bubbly and other perks. Bliss at the W offers three options like a detox sea mineral mud body treatment and massage with a choice of aromatherapy blends. Still not satisfied? Palm Beach Countys inaugural Spa & Wellness Month takes place in October. The Breakers OSEA and Essie mani/pedi (pictured) and Eaus sea salt scrub and pumpkin body polish add a charity component.

STORES TO TOURS

Already known for its outdoor art collection and exhibits, the Miami Design District introduces complimentary, hour-long tours twice a month. The 18-block neighborhood partnered with Margery Gordon, an art critic and educator who founded Arts Encounters for custom tours and experiences to tap into the local art scene. She introduces groups (walk-ups are welcome, but reservations are preferred) to unbelievable works that are often overlooked as shoppers and diners go about their day. Most of them notice Buckminster Fuller Flys Eye Dome, which doubles as a parking garage entrance, in the Palm Court, but they may not know its backstory. She also delves into John Baldessaris Fun (Part 1) and Fun (Part 2) and Xavier Veilhans Le Corbusier, pictured, within 30+ works. Join her September 27 at 6 p.m.
