Miami founder Julia Tuttles legacy lives on with the debut of the Julia, an adult-only boutique hotel in the South of Fifth neighborhood. Its owner believes the historic property is the third oldest hotel in Miami Beach. Designer Stephen Busto updated its common areas and 29 rooms with a hodgepodge of antiques and site-specific contemporary art works such as whimsical, large-scale butterfly installations. His coral and gray palette with splashes of cream conjures an old-fashioned parlor or tea partyexactly as he imagines Tuttle would have favored when Miami was a nascent city. A shell-encrusted bust of the grande dame welcomes guests. Rocking chairs and a cozy caf foster good conversation during beach breaks. The Rick Smith Golf Academy takes over Jim McLeans former school at the resort throughout fall and winter. For those who arent familiar with the sporting legend, Rick Smith has earned the number two ranking for golf instruction according to PGA Tour players and Golf Digest magazine. Hes also a regular commentator for televised golf events and has produced a slew of instructional programming. The academy welcomes novices to experts of all ages including resort guests, club members and the public to schedule private lessons, intimate group clinics and on-course practice. Services extend to swing analysis and fitting clients with the perfect set of golf clubs.

Anglophiles have a new source for suiting in Aventura. Hackett London, the quintessentially British brand and sponsor of polo and tennis tournaments and boating and car races galore, opened its second retail location in the U.S. (it also operates an outlet store in New York). Specializing in mens and boys clothing and accessories, Jeremy Hacketts namesake line began as a second-hand boutique on Portobello Road, a well-trodden vintage and antiques market in London, in 1979. His exquisite eye, which he shares in Jeremys Rules for Living a Better Life, has grown into a global retail empire for multiple categories from velvet tuxedos to blazers and jeans for the weekend to athleisure through a collaboration with Aston Martin Racing. He also became the first apparel sponsor of the Henley Royal Regatta.

PRIX-FIXE & PIZZA
The weekend promises to be tasty. Hy Vong, Calle Ochos beloved defunct Vietnamese restaurant, pops up at the Womans Club of Coconut Grove tomorrow from 6-9 p.m. Founders Kathy Manning and chef Tung Nguyen will prepare some of their most popular dishes for a prix-fixe dinner to benefit the clubs good work at 2985 South Bayshore Drive.
