VERY VERSACE
Versace dedicated the second floor of its 4,000-square-foot Miami Design District boutique to its Maison collection. Its the only U.S. flagship to do so, and even its New York and Beverly Hills stores dont offer a home and design selection of this size. The setting is equally rich. Mosaic floors, whose circular pattern follows the walls, mirror the craftsmanship found in medieval Byzantine churches. Dcor also features brass stars, an onyx faade, and Perspex (a material similar to Lucite) shelving for a floating effect. Wares encompass furniture, tableware, giftswho wouldnt love a Medusa piggybank?and bed and bath linens; a robe in an exclusive color for Miami already sold out. Collections range from Art Deco-inspired Les Etoiles De La Mar, pictured, to the new V-shaped Via Ges.

AUTO FOCUS
Get in the spirit of summer with the Wolfsonian-FIUs road trip-themed exhibits. The museum hosts a private reception tonight for North and South: Berenice Abbotts U.S. Route 1 and The Long Road to Now: Digital Photos Inspired by Berenice Abbotts Road Trip. The former expands the shows New York premiere with the artists personal Rolleiflex camera and more of her images depicting the rise of car culture in the Fifties with the introduction of the freeway system. Abbott hit the road in 1954 to capture Americana from Florida to Maine. Co-curated by #JJ Community, a daily, themed photo forum to display works by anyone, the latter presents contemporary images by 15 Instagrammers as an homage. Both open to the public tomorrow and are on view through October 8, 2017.

BASEL BOUND
South Florida art collectors will be noticeably absent next week with the opening of the Art Basel fair in its namesake Swiss city. Nearly 300 galleries will exhibit 4,000 artists from June 15-18. Just like its Miami edition, the event hosts an invitation-only preview on June 13-14 and vernissage on June 14. The Conversations series kicks off with the Premiere Artist Talk when Annette Messager discusses her work and practice with Tate director Dr. Maria Balshaw. Cant make it? Not to worry since this year introduces live streaming for each talk including art insiders like Hans Ulrich Obrist, Susanne Pfeffer and Elmgreen & Dragset. Located outside the fair, Swiss artist Claudia Comtes immersive installation titled Now I Won invites people to play carnival games to score an artwork.
