Nike finally revealed its two-story, 31,000-square-foot concept store on Lincoln Road. It follows Nike Soho, which introduced the brands new interactive direction that blends its digital and brick-and-mortar platforms. The faades brise-soleil cast with waffle iron and Nike Windrunner patterns takes after the Miami Design Districts splashy architecture more than its Art Deco surroundings. Exterior terrazzo panels play up the retro Latin American locale, while Jessy Nites exclusive, multi-media installation of colorful, film-coated tiles references the local art scene. Trial Zones for basketball, running and soccer invite customers to try out footwear while shooting hoops, performing drills and hitting the treadmill. Like Apples Genius Bar, certified experts offer consultations through the 1:1 program. The mens shoe wall alone features 100 styles, but the HyperAdapt 1.0 requires an appointment.

DINNER & DCOR
Design on a Dime, Housing Works charity dinner and pop-up showroom with dazzling vignettes by 30 designers, returns to the Miami Design District from February 4-5. Honorary chairs Andy Cohen and Venus Williams will join founding chair and interior designer James Huniford at Saturdays soire to fight homelessness and AIDS through advocacy and a multitude of services. The event originated in Manhattan before expanding to Miami and Brooklyn. Donated merchandise, including furniture, accessories and art, is available at 50-80 percent discounts to raise funds for the nonprofit. WORKING WARDROBES
Long a linchpin of department stores and upscale boutiques, womens wear label Lafayette 148 is striking out on its own regarding retail. After testing waters in China, the 20-year-old firm is opening freestanding stores in the U.S. So far, stateside locations are limited to New York and Miami, including a pop-up in Bal Harbour Shops through March, and a permanent store in Brickell City Centre. The latters brick loft design emulates the headquarters original address in Manhattan, a former garment factory in SoHo. The tropical climate is reflected not only through custom pale dcor but the early arrival of resort and spring collections. BRASS TO GLASS
Fort Lauderdale is flooded with cultural events in February. On Friday night, the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble performs at Parker Playhouse. The bands seven talented brothers from the south side of Chicago have played with famous musicians like Prince and Snoop Dogg. Miami City Ballets Program II comes to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday and Sunday. Its four works mix classical and contemporary choreography and music, beginning with Balanchines Serenade set to Tchaikovsky and concluding with Jerome Robbins Glass Pieces, mesmerizing hypnotic moves and a Philip Glass score.
