
Art Basel Shopping Spree
A guide to fashion and home limited editions for the annual art week.
Even people who could care less about art can score big during Basel. From pop-ups through Sunday to limited-edition and one-off pieces, the annual art week brings the best in fashion and design to Miami. Weve compiled a list of some of our favorites.
A preview for Faena Districts permanent, four-story souk due in spring, Faena Bazaar features several pop-ups and galleries through December 4. Browse Danish fashion designer Henrik Vibskovs graphic-printed clothes, Sybillas architectural dresses and surrealist artist Pedro Friedebergs hand-molded resin marquetry and miniature hand chairs in a setting designed by OMA. Besides offering a beer garden and temporary artist-tattoo parlor, the space hosts designer talks and Sunday brunch.


Louis Vuitton unveils its latest collaborations for Objets Nomades, a travel-themed home collection inspired by its iconic steamer trunks. New pieces include Tokujin Yoshiokas Blossom stool, which is based on the houses quarto foil monogram, in gold chrome or leather and wood; and the Campana Brothers Cocoon chair in fur. Find them at Design Miami/ and the Miami Design District store.
In the market for a new handbag? The Webster teamed up Preciously Paris, a line of luxe clutches, for an exclusive marine and geometric fabric print borrowed from the boutiques ornate wallpaper. Two sizes are available in only 36 editions each, so get them while they last. Alchemist also presents a handbag haven through a month-long pop-up with Londons Anya Hindmarch. Resort styles like metallic, crumbled clutches and a shearling backpack with monster eyes fill the stores windows and front shelves. A blue suede tote sports rainbow rays in multiple exotic materials such as python and pony-hair. Pick up cute leather stickers, too, to apply to any bag. The new MM6 pop up in the Miami Design District tapped graphic-meets-graffiti artist Aaron De La Cruz to put his spin on 60 of its signature Japanese bags.
Art Production Fund, which pioneered the mass-market art collaboration before Target and H&M, issues its 10th annual towel series with exclusive artworks by John Currin and Laurie Simmons. Speaking of H&M, the Swedish store unveiled its new Fashion Loves Art collection with Alex Katz. Shop mens and womens wear in organic cotton, as well as home dcor at its Miami Beach and Aventura storesyep, its only carried here or online.
Georg Jensen chose none other than Zaha Hadids pending One Thousand Museum residential tower here to preview eight additional pieces in gold for her last jewelry collection, Lamellae. The 18K gold rings link to her organic architecture and come with or without brilliant cut diamonds. Collectors can also purchase the same designs in sterling silver and black rhodium that debuted a couple months ago.

Visit 1 Hotel & Homes for several exciting initiatives. Architect Natalia Miyar partnered with the New Craftsmen and Crafts Council UK to present British Craft: The Miami Edit. The concept debuted at Design Miami/ in Basel, Switzerland, in June. Andrea Walsh, Edmund Byrne and Jochen Holzs handmade pieces, among others, are on view through December 2. Hollie Watman, who made a splash during Miami swim week with her resort collection, returns with a pop up devoted to her new Art of Wellness line. A tropical Wonderland print (jeweled frogs!) appears on workout wear, canvas tote bags and a $1,500 bespoke bicycle.
