ONE Sotheby's International Realty Sponsors Sotheby's Contemporary Art Week in London

One Sotheby's International Realtyrecentlysponsored theSotheby'sContemporary Art Week in London, whichclosed with a grand total of $69.4 million in sales. The auction featured works from the most influential artists of the 20th & 21st centuries including pieces by Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, Cy Twombly and Jenny Seville. Two artist records were set at the Contemporary Art Evening Auction Jenny Savilles 'Shift' brought 6.8 million and Keith Harings 'The Last Rainforest' sold for4.2 million.

'Shift'was acquired by the Long Museum for the forthcoming exhibition "She" - opening in Shanghai on 27 July. Bidding was strong and competitive from the sales opening lots. The pieces most notably bid for were Yayoi Kusamas 'Infinity Nets' (677,000) and a buoyant Alexander Calder mobile (1.7 million). A trio of works by Jean Dubuffet and two canvases by the sought-after painter Adrian Gheniewere also among the highest selling pieces at the auction. It was exciting to experience first handthe durability of the art market, with major results coming from the Contemporary Art Evening Auction.
