ONE Life Exclusive | Aspen Ascent for Napa Confidential

ONE Sothebys International Realty and Napa Valley are heading to the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen this month. Were collaborating with Chris Klug Properties, a local affiliate with Aspen Snowmass Sothebys International Realty, and Ma(i)sonry, a winery collective, tasting room and art gallery in Yountville, Calif., to host Napa Confidential A Lifestyle Gathering. The exclusive, three-hour reception takes place at Forre & Co. Fine Art Gallery on June 17. Well also be treating our VIP clients to wine tastings at a private residence throughout the whole festival.

Its not only a new partnership between our brands but the first time ONE Sothebys has partnered with an actual winery and participated in a wine event of this level, said Ian Fenwick, director of sales for Ma(i)sonry. Located in the historic Charles Rovegno House landscaped with hundred-year-old olive trees, Ma(i)sonry represents small-grower wineries by some of the industrys most notable makers like Heidi Barrett and Thomas Brown. In Aspen theyre pouring an impressive portfolio with presenting winemaker Josh Phelps & Friends including its very own Taken Wine Co. Teeter-Totter Wines, Gather Wines and Kimberly Jones Selections are just a few of the other firms filling sponsor Riedels stemware.

For an idea of whats in store, here are three selections. Produced by a fourth-generation vintner and her daughters, Lail Vineyards 2014 Blueprint sauvignon blanc features aromas of lemongrass, honeysuckle and Meyer lemon with a hint of passion fruit and vanilla. Coup de Foudres 2013 cabernet sauvignon with small quantities of cabernet franc and petit verdot grapes hails from Calistoga, Calif. Lastly, only 715 cases of Fisher Mountain Estates 2012 chardonnay were produced; Asian pear, plus melon and apricots at their peak ripeness define this dense wine aged in French oak barrels.

The collaboration also found the perfect hospitality partner in Meadowood, a luxury resort with a three-Michelin-starred restaurant in Napa Valley. The propertys beverage director Scott Beattie, a seasoned mixologist whom Wine Enthusiast listed on its 40 Under 40 for Americas Tastemakers, will create exclusive cocktails. We have close partnerships with Josh Phelps and Meadowood, so we thought why not bring together the top hotel, chefs and wines to showcase the best of Napa Valley and complete the picture with the equivalent in luxury real estate. Theres a real synergy among all these brands, said Fenwick.

A note about ONE Sothebys home away from home during the Food & Wine Classic

Chris Klug has chosen an elegant, 2,900-square-foot home on a verdant half acre where the Roaring Fork River meets Castle Creek. Our guests will be able to enjoy the sounds and sights of nature while sipping wine on a large deck. The 4-bedroom, 3-bath property features a two-sided stone fireplace and a charming wooden bridge in the front yard.
