After a power nap, get glammed up for the Fun-Raiser Prom to benefit the Miami Rail. Gallery Diet owner Nina Johnson-Milewski founded the local edition of the respected arts publication based in Brooklyn. Barbara de Vries, a local fashion designer and anti-pollution activist who became known for chic jewelry made from repurposed plastic collected on beaches, has expanded with the Renaissance Slipper. Designed exclusively for Faenas Tierra Santa spa, the concept eternally recycles shoes materials for zero wasteworn slippers are returned to their original factory in Georgia to be reborn, thus ensuring their plastic doesnt end up in oceans and landfills. Presented in silky bags, clients find their cherry-red hue so happy and their design so comfy that they pick up a pair to take home or gift. For the spa, she also launched the BdeV collection. Loungewear and dresses come in designer fabrics from ateliers such as Valentino and Chloe with exquisite details from tassels to handmade wax-dipped tags.

South Beach will have a new boutique hotel when the Plymouth reopens near the Bass Museum of Art in time for summer company and Miami Swim Week. Think Hotel Group, whose portfolio includes the nearby Boulan South Beach, restored the Art Deco gem and tapped New Yorks famous Blue Ribbon to expand with its first sushi bar and grill in Florida. They were also smart in bringing Fernando Santangelo on board. The New York designer specializes in iconic properties, such as Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles and the Raleigh here. He found an instant inspiration in Russian artist Roman Chatovs original, jewel-toned murals in the rare, oval-shaped lobby. Blue Ribbon provides poolside fare at coral-colored cabanas, too. The 110 guest rooms dcor marries Mediterranean and clubby British charm.

On May 19, Quality Meats hosts a pig roast with a Florida heritage breed known as a Red Wattle, as part of its themed cookouts that will be held regularly throughout summer. (Were telling you now since last months barbecue with a whole steer sold out swiftly.) Chef Patrick Rebholz (pictured) will smoke the whole hog on the terrace for a four-course feast.
