Within the pages of our Spring 2014 edition, Maxine Milo educated readers on the international architect Piero Lissoni and his current Miami project. Lissonis goal was to contribute a modern edge to the iconic brand and Milo explains how he executed that goal. Hailing from Milan, Lissoni was hired by developer Lionheart Capital to bring the brands signature level of luxury to private residences and to strike the balance between honoring the legacy of the brand while fitting into the structure of Miamis modern skyline.
Lissoni aptly explained his inspiration in this statement, I work in 2014, and I like to be a modernist.But in the same moment, I never forget tradition. When his first US project is completed in winter 2016, the self-contained community will occupy seven acres in a quiet corner of Miami Beach near Lincoln Road on the only lakefront area in Miami. The LEED-certified property will consist of 111 two-to-four bedroom multimillion dollar units and 15 villas with spectacular waterfront views.
The prime location is a favorite project feature for Lissoni, This is a very special place. Its in a city but it can feel like a village. And having the lake, ocean and waterway is an unusual combination. I love it.
