British architect John Pawson has always focused on simplicity in art, architecture, and design across various projects and cultural contexts. His carefully defined style fueled early commissions including homes for noteworthy artist. This ultimately spanned to major corporate projects like Calvin Klein Collections flagship store in Manhattan, an Ian Schrager condo on New Yorks Gramercy Park, interiors of famous yachts, sets for new ballets at Londons Royal Opera House and the Opra Bastille in Paris.
Most recently, the Brit has designed a new leisure complex embodying the resort living spirit called Miami Beach EDITION at 2901 Collins Ave. The new development exists within the structure of the former Seville Beach Hotel which was open between 1950-2006. The project was commissioned by developer Schrager whose past work in Miami includes the iconic Delano. Many of the current projects 26 high-end apartments will occupy the top floors of The Miami Beach EDITION, and the remaining apartments will be located within an 18-story tower that has recently been constructed alongside.
Each unit will offer a continuity between indoor and outdoor living that provides the natural beauty that Miami living offers. Surrounding floor-to-ceiling windows will lead out to large terraces with pools, fireplaces, and outdoor kitchens. Apartments will be outfitted with a dedicated entrance including a private route appropriate for celebrity residence. All rooms will be furnished with luxury necessities from concrete bathtubs and sinks with bleached teak flooring.
