Bass Top Brass
The Bass Museum of Art hosted its annual gala A Night at the Museum in conjunction with the opening ofFrom Picasso to Koons, The Artist as Jeweler on Thursday, March 14th. Curated by French jewelry collector Diane Venet, the exhibition features 200 wearable sculptures from 135 artists including Anish Kapoor, Yoko Ono and Max Ernst. Beyond the works' precious materials and famous makers, each holds unique value in that it was conceived for a lover, relative or friend; the show's concept even came about through romance when Venet's artist beau fashioned silver around her finger as a wedding band. It runs through July 21, with an accompanying catalog by Flammarion/Rizzoli. Gala tickets may be purchased at the door.

Sky-High Pie
Miami's pizza cred just skyrocketed. The first branch of Brooklyn's Lucali outside New York opened in Sunset Harbour sans sign, menu or voicemail - we could have another soup Nazi situation on our hands. Naturally its fixed prices are inflated at $26 per plain pie with a maximum of four toppings from a short list for extra cost. The menu also serves calzones, Brooklyn beers on tap and a sole selection each for red and white wine. So why all the fuss? Like moths, diners are drawn to its candlelit setting where pizza makers roll dough with vino bottles. Topped with a ladle of secret tomato sauce and non-processed ingredients, heavenly crusts emerge crisp and charred from the 800-degree brick oven.

Well Suited
Miami swimwear aficionados get first dibs on Kai Lani's spring collection designed by the same sisters behind Mermaids boutique. Their Brazilian bottom has a huge following for its waist-slimming, v-cut front, seamless sides that don't dig into hips, and perfectly proportioned back that isn't too skimpy. Variations come with tie and cinched sides, as well as those with cut-outs selected for the 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Hot tops are the flutter and ruffled bandeau, while white mesh inlay has stolen fringe's thunder. Wild prints like Grateful Dead and double rainbow floral aren't for tame types. Silk crepe cover-ups include an off-the-shoulder mini-dress and boho chic dress with a high-low hemline and back strap. Custom orders welcome.
