One Sotheby's sponsored the Latin American Art Paintings Private preview cocktail reception and exhibition in New York City along with Morris & Fyrwald Sothebys International Realty in Aspen, CO. and the Sothebys International Realty Manhattan office. It was a great chance for our agents to meet and connect with other Sotheby's affiliates from all over the country as well as showcase exclusive South Florida listings. One Sothebys CEO Mayi de la Vega described the event as "an unbelievable opportunity to showcase our properties," and added, "our office received two high-end listings as a result of our attendance. It demonstrates our out-of-the-box thinking and strengthens our relationship with the auction house.

It was also a great opportunity to appreciate the masterpieces displayed in the Latin American art collection, which included works by Fernando Botero, Diego Rivera, Wilfredo Lam and Leonora Carrington, among others. The auction was a tremendous success and totaled more than $16 million, which broke seven new artist records.

A wonderful recap of the event was included in the June 2010 issue of Sothebys Collections, which is a monthly newsletter published forSothebys International Realty affiliates. This issue includes features on fellow affiliates and all the latest brand news.
