L.G.B.T.Q. Pride Month celebrations are taking place all over the U.S. throughout June. The month was chosen in honor of the Stonewall riots in New York in June 1969. A few Florida Pride parades and other events are scheduled at different times of the year, such as Miami Beachs in April, but many wait for the official Pride Month. Fort Lauderdale

The citys Wilton Manors neighborhood hosts its annual Stonewall Pride Parade and Street Festival on June 19. Pop singer Marina and rapper Azealia Banks headline the two-day music festival at the RC Cola Plant.
