The F1 Grand Prix Takes Over Miami

The wait is finally over Formula 1s inaugural Miami Grand Prix is just a few days away!
After three practice rounds and a qualifying race on Friday and Saturday afternoons, the final championship is slated for Sunday, May 8 from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. F1s top competitors will speed through 57 laps around the newly-built Miami International Autodrome, a temporary 5.41km circuit designed to have a permanent feel at Miami Gardenss Hard Rock Stadium.
As the home of the Super Bowl LIV, Miami HEAT, Miami Open, Inter Miami CF and dozens of professional and club teams, South Florida has already established itself as a global sports hub. Now, the city makes its F1 debut in spectacular fashion as the proud host of only the second F1 series race ever in the US and the third in all of North America.
Ten teams and 20 drivers are set to battle in Miami after competing at the Bahrain, Saudi Arabian, Australian and Emilia Romagna Grands Prix this spring. In the 2022 standings, Ferrari leads the way with 104 points and a recent win in Bahrain, powered by the duo of drivers Charles Leclerc (Monaco) and Carlos Sainz (Spain). Mercedes and Red Bull Racing round out the current top 3, with 65 and 55 points respectively.
