With light open floor plans and spaces that easily transition between indoor/outdoor living areas, Mid-Century modern homes are both functional and appealing for South Floridas sophisticated, but still laid-back lifestyle. From an architecture perspective, this waterfront home featured is a masterpiece from the Mid-Century modern era that became popular between the 1930s-60s and favored a futuristic aesthetic combined with practicality. The house was still in its original condition and needed to meet the standards of todays savvy buyers, which would appreciate its design history but expect updated finishes and interiors.
ONE Sothebys International Realtys ELEVATE design experts, that focus on pre-market home renovations to maximize home value, set out with a challenge to accentuate the architectural details but update the residence to todays standards. They also wanted to make some of the areas more useful, which resulted in adding a home office, expanding closets and redesigning all the bathrooms.
They also removed stone cladding that was in the facade, chimney and main living room and added large format porcelain tile to create a very modern concrete look. The kitchen was also redone as well as the outdoor landscape and patio lighting.
