One-Year Cheer
Melbournes Ember & Oak celebrates its one-year anniversary this month. Equally stellar has been the restaurants to-go transformation with a full-service market, at-home cooking kits with themes like steak night/date night, and regular menu items from Florida rock shrimp and grits to ahi tuna nioise with deviled eggs. Brunch boxes include all the classics plus cold brew coffee.

Cool Catering
Keep your eyes glued to Coolinary Cafs Facebook and Instagram pages. The Jupiter restaurant posts family-style meals twice a week that sell out within the hour. Previous takeout spreads have been tacos with empanadas, banana bread pudding and margaritas, or pasta with meat sauce, beet salad, carrot cake and red wine. Its Pig in a Pickle sandwich shop pops up, too.

Outdoor Oases
Several of the regions natural areas have reopened. Riverbend Park invites hikers and bikers to use its Old Florida trails again, along with dipping a canoe or kayak in the water. The Jim Brandon Equestrian Center welcomes trail rides, though facilities remain shuttered. Indian River County and St. Lucie County opened their beaches, with Martin County still mulling it over.

Bravo for Bakeries
If youre tired of making a mess with non-stop baking projects, sample this local fare. Besides its namesake Italian doughnuts with five types of fillings, Jensen Beachs Bomboloni Bakery is churning out croissants and strawberry and cream cronuts. Jupiters Bread by Johnny lists regular breads (Brooklyn rye, cinnamon raisin) and daily specials (brioche rolls, pan de coco, panettone).
