The Scoop: Palm Beach to Melbourne | Weekend of March 5

Fab Florals

Vero Beachs love of art and gardens comes together at the Vero Beach Garden Clubs annual Art in Bloom luncheon at the Vero Museum of Art on March 12. Premier florists Greg Campbell and Erick New, owners of Garden District floral shop in Memphis, Tenn., will give back-to-back demonstrations during two lunch seatings.

Nice Shot

Kristin-Lee Moolman received the Rudin Prize for Emerging Photographers, a collaboration inaugurated in 2012 by art collector Beth Rudin DeWoody and the Norton Museum of Art. The South African native was nominated by Cindy Sherman, per the biennial, $20,000 prizes panel of judges who are international artists. Her work is on view in a group show with other nominees through May 31.

Better Block Party

West Palm Beachs South End Neighborhood Association knows how to throw a block party. Instead of typical grills and lawn chairs, its Fiesta on Flagler on March 13 rounds up tasty restaurants like Table 26 and Field of Greens for Latin American fare, cocktails and live music. Proceeds support Family Promise North/Central Palm Beach County for the homeless. Reserve here.

Apizza Arrives

Stuart locals who graduated from Yale and Wesleyan universities in Connecticut are happy to see a new pizzeria specializing in New Haven-style pies like those in their alma maters hometown. Fantinis Apizza also imports New Havens term for pizza, along with coal-charred crusts and specific toppings, inspired by Italian immigrants who created a regional version of the Neapolitan classic.
