Tur Treat
At the new TUR Kitchen in Coral Gables, executive chef Nelson Fernndez brings a deep knowledge of Mediterranean and Middle-terranean cuisine from his former post at Toronto import Byblos on the beach. His fare marries ethnic dishes like dips, Turkish flatbreads (mushrooms, truffle cream, gorgonzola), leg of lamb and rose water-scented kunfa pastry with classic crowd pleasers.

Wander & Wonder
Its impossible not to be inspired during Fort Lauderdale Art & Design Week from January 18-26. The whole city comes alive with studio visits, gallery openings, collector talks and tours, which are centered on Art Fort Lauderdale, a four-day fair with a twist. Rather than a white tent or convention center, works are exhibited in waterfront estates accessed by boat.

Finer Flea
Heres another artsy shopping event not to miss. NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale is collaborating with artist Rob Pruitt on a flea market from January 18-19. His nomadic, open-air bazaar for original artworks and housewares has popped up from London to New York. Part of the Happy! group show, Pruitt also gives a talk on Saturday afternoon.

Savvy Savoy
South Beachs boutique hotel reinvention continues with the new Savoy Hotel. Dcor dives into the islands glam past, perhaps a trend now that the Fifties-era hit show The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel filmed in Miami Beach. The all-suite property (31 total) features a Palm Beach-inspired palette and prints. Retro amenities range from a martini bar cart to onsite cigar roller.
