<![CDATA[After being taken off the market in November, the Midtown Manhattan duplex penthouse belonging to the great-granddaughters of Gucci has returned, this time listed for $35 million by SothebysInternational Realty. Uniquely, it is also being marketed as two individual penthouses, each listed for $17.5 million. In the 1970s, Maurizio Gucci, the grandson of the famed fashion designer Guccio Gucci, purchased the two penthouse units on the Olympic Towers 50th and 51st floors. In 2015, the entire penthouse first went on the market for $45 million, before being reduced to $38 million, after which it was removed from the market. Now, Maurizio Guccis daughters, Alessandra and Allegra Gucci, current owners of the Gucci Penthouse, have returned it to the market for $35 million.
The Fifth Avenue property spans about 8,400 square feet with eight bedrooms and eight-and-a-half bathrooms, along with two furnished kitchens and an impeccably paneled library. The formal dining room offers enchanting views of New York City, while large, open spaces allow for a necessary respite from the compact nature of the city. As two individual penthouses, each penthouse spans over 4,000 square feet. The larger penthouse has six bedrooms and four baths, while the smaller penthouse has five bedrooms and five baths.
Amenities include sprawling 14-foot ceilings, a wood-burning fireplace, a luxurious sauna, a fully functional gym, an immersive media room and floor-to-ceiling glass windows, which offer panoramic views of the New York City skyline, including Rockefeller Center, the Chrysler Building, and the Statue of Liberty. A shower with glass paneling even offers a breathtaking view of the Empire State Building. The Gucci Penthouse is furnished in a modernist style, which perfectly complements the sleek lines of the windows and the molding. The building itself offers a twenty-four-hour doorman service, a concierge, and elevator attendants. Sothebys brokers Danielle V. Rivoir, Elizabeth Sample, and Brenda Powers are handling the listings.
