Just north of Surfside, locally-owned Books & Books in the Bal Harbour Shops is my favorite. Yes, we luckily still have a real, brick and mortar bookstore with a great selection!
AHIDDEN GEM IN SURFSIDE
The beach path is nature all the way. The ocean, trees, birds its my morning yoga. I love walking with my dog, Alaska, early in the day to watch the sunrise or late afternoon when it cools down.
A LOCAL EVENT NOT TO BE MISSED
Every year, Mount Sinai and Saks Fifth Avenue team up for the Key to the Cure event, a charity shopping weekend benefiting organizations fighting cancer. Its my personal favorite.
BEST RESTAURANT IN SURFSIDE
Harbour Grill is my favorite for steaks and burgers. Le Sirenuse at the new Surf Club Four Seasons is the best for authentic Italian dishes.
BEST FOOD/COCKTAIL MENU ITEMS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD
I love the Tuna Tartare appetizer at Le Sirenuse and the Fish Tacos at 26, a Japanese/Peruvian kosher restaurant. The ouzo at Atlantiks in the St. Regis brings Greece to Miami!
