SIZING UP SECTORS
With nearly 270 galleries, Art Basel can seem a little overwhelming. Tackle the nations premier art fair by focusing on a single sector. Video art lovers will want to watch the Film Sector curated by David Gryn, director of Daata Editions and Artprojx in London, on New World Symphonys projection wall in Miami Beach SoundScape Park. Naturally, this years theme is sound and music, including Best Dressed Chicken in Town, a collaboration involving 27 artists inspired by Jamaican reggae singer and deejay Dr Alimantados namesake song. Works by Christian Marclay to Alfredo Jaar will also be shown, along with the documentary Maurizio Cattelan: Be Right Back, pictured, at the Colony Theatre on December 2. Then wander through Art Publics 20 works, which pay homage to David Bowie, in Collins Park.
