The Scoop: Weekend of November 10th

BRAZIL BOUND

Bossa Concept, a multi-brand boutique for Brazilian luxury fashions, opens next week in Palau Sunset Harbour. Founders and former models Alessandra Cavalcante and Flavia Schwenk named the store after Brazils signature spirit that permeates every aspect of its daily life, from soulful samba music to locals trendy tropical style. They represent approximately two dozen brands including Isabel Capeto from a seasoned designer whose handmade and hand-dyed pieces are shown in Paris and carried by respected retailers such as Barneys and Colette; and WaiWai Rios playful, multimedia bags of rattan, vibrant acrylic panels and silk accents. Following a private grand opening party on November 17, shoppers are invited to browse the magical assortment for Art Basel party attire and more the next day. An in-house, eponymous label premieres next year.

FIT LAUDERDALE

Fort Lauderdale is heading into the holiday season with a healthy start. The Ritz-Carltons Burlock Coast restaurant celebrates its one-year anniversary by launching a monthly farmers market on Saturday. Browse produce from vendors like Three Sisters Farm, Hammock Hollow, where chef sources his greens, and Harpke Family Farm, a Dania Beach operation for micro-greens. Do some holiday shopping with KeezBeez raw honey and SMAKS teas (Bermuda Pink, Tobago Afternoon) from the Caribbean. Distilled nearby, Fwaygo handcrafted and flavored rums also make great gifts. In honor of Browards inaugural lululemon athletica store, the Galleria is hosting a six-week fitness series from November 12-December 17. On Saturday, Kate Yoga leads a class whose first 200 attendees receive a complimentary yoga mat. Pure Barre and Zeli Pilates are also scheduled to teach.

Miamis mixology scene has made national news, and now a whole new round of cocktail lounges is set to open throughout the holidays. First up is South Pointe Tavern, a complementary addition to South of Fifths upscale eateries. Familiar with the enclaves discerning clientele, its partners plan to offer the largest tequila and whiskey selection on the beach as well as classic and exclusive drink recipes by Distilled Hospitalitys Robert Ferrara. Some concoctions infuse wellness elements, such as aai in the Lustau sherry-based South of Fifth Smash, or fresh-pressed kale and cucumber juices and matcha tea mixed with aged Avu Amburana Cachaa for the Mquina Verde. While they wait, guests can peruse interactive iPads to learn about the world of wine and spirits. Bar bites complete the night out.

PARTIES, PLANTS & PICNICS

From big-ticket galas to outdoor concerts, the weekend promises something special for everyone. The Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami hosts its annual 365 Party Dinner + After-Party tomorrow. British dancer and choreographer Michael Clark, pictured, makes his local debut, while EDM producer Total Freedom closes the festivities with a DJ set. The weathers shift signifies Fairchild Gardens Annual Ramble is here. For its 76th year, the three-day fall garden festival fills the tropical oasis with entertainment, kitchen and garden demonstrations, and a massive plant sale along with vendors for other wares like crafts, books and antiques.Pack a picnic for a moonlit concert on Sunday at the 125-year-old Barnacle Historic State Park. Miami native DeBlois Milledge performs a mix of folk and pop covers and original songs.
