Alice + Olivia launched its first freestanding store in Florida in Miami. The pop-up relocates to its permanent home, a 3,240-square-foot, bi-level flagship, in a year. Designed like an art gallery, the temporary space features polished cement floors and an all-white palette including metal rolling racks.
A groovy pair of bright red midcentury-modern chairs with exaggeratedly tall backs la Alice in Wonderland complements emerald green dressing room curtains. New York artist Annie Arroyos textured, multimedia wall hanging in bold colors links to the selection of color-blocked handbags and knits. Founder and creative director Stacey Bendet loves art, having recently toured Italys Park of the Monsters, the inspiration for her Spring 2017 collection. But fall is all about the Seventies, from boho dresses to bell-bottoms to power suits.

Among the fresh crop in Fort Lauderdales Wilton Manors, Top Chef contestant Josie Smith-Malave opened her first restaurant, Bubbles & Pearls. Are there two more beautiful words in cuisine than champagne and oysters? Perch on a canary yellow bar stool for bivalves sourced from Apalachicola and up and down both U.S. coasts with bubbly as diverse as pricey bottles of the real deal to everyday prosecco and Sekt.
The Hialeah native picked up a lot of skills regarding raw-bar delicacies while traveling the world and working for famous toques like Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Wylie Dufresne. Shes mastered poke, crudo and ceviches, whether Peruvian with choclo corn and spicy aji, or seasonal produce and Asian condiments. Hot dishes are sizzling steaks and 500-degree mussels.
