This November, SothebysLondonwill exclusively presentBowie/Collector, a three-part sale encompassing some 400 objects from the personal collection of David Bowie. An actor, musician and icon, Bowie avidly pursued connections tomodern and contemporary artworks and their makers. The collection represents the renowned Bowie, showing his dedication to individualism, also see in his own original art.
Diverse taste led him tocollect Outsider Art, Surrealism and Contemporary African art. Parts 1 and 2 of the sale will focus on modern and contemporary art, while the artwork is Part 3 is post-modernist, specificallypieces by eccentric Italian designer Ettore Sottsass and the Memphis group.
