ONE for ONE will benefit The Lotus House in Miami-Dade County and Women in Distress in Broward.
The Lotus House seeks to empower women to improve their quality of life on every level in order to break the cycle of homelessness and achieve greater self-sufficiency. The non-profit organization provides unique resources for homeless women and infants suffering from extreme poverty, disability, domestic violence, or untreated medical or mental illness.Women in Distress is the only nationally accredited, state-certified, full service domestic violence center serving Broward County. The organization providesa 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter program, individual counseling, support groups and professional training that is aimed at educating the community on domestic violence.
The ONE for ONE effort is company-wide: agents are volunteering their time as well as pre-pledging donations with each closing; homebuyers also have the option to give. Support also comes from thrift shop donations from ONE | Sir clients. Other contributions come in the form of diaper drives and fundraiser events the first one will be at Prana Yoga in Coral Gables on January 25, 2013.
One agent recently donated her entire commission from a rental to The Lotus House.
