Having lived across the Southeast from Virginia to Florida — and making the move to Florida four separate times — April understands both the excitement and complexity of relocation firsthand. With a degree in Interior Architecture and a concentration in Historic Preservation, April’s career has been rooted in the built environment, aesthetics, and the long-term value of thoughtful design. Her professional background spans architecture and design firms, design-build organizations, and leadership roles managing multi-million dollar design, construction, redevelopment, and capital improvement projects for Fortune 500 companies and Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) organizations. She is also the owner and operator of Merrywood Design Co., a boutique design management consulting firm specializing in architecture, interiors, construction coordination, and project management services. Throughout her career, she has led complex cross-functional projects involving stakeholder management, portfolio redevelopment, move management, client presentations, and client-focused solutions.

Deeply rooted in the community and professional industry organizations, April has dedicated her time to several civic, philanthropic, and professional associations, including service on Historic Preservation Boards, the Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital, The Junior League of Jacksonville, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church of Fernandina Beach, the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), and CREW Network (Commercial Real Estate Women). Her passion for preservation, design, community engagement, and relationship building continues to shape both her professional and personal endeavors.

Today, April leverages that diverse experience to guide buyers, sellers, investors, and relocating clients with a strategic and highly personalized approach to luxury real estate. Her ability to understand not only the residence itself, but also design potential, investment value, community character, and the logistics behind major life transitions, allows her to serve as a trusted advisor at every stage of the process.
