Alec Zappone is a 28-year-old local born Floridian, raised on the coast of central and Northeast Florida. Alec Zappone is a 28-year-old local born Floridian, raised on the coast of central and Northeast Florida. Growing up in the surf industry, Alec was a competitive surfer who traveled to compete at a regional and national level. Alec spent his summers working as a lifeguard for both St. john’s County and Brevard County prior to his studies at Flagler College. Alec is a recent graduate of Flagler college, where he received a bachelor degree in Business, with minor studies in marketing, advertisement, and psychology. Additionally, he studied the basics of photography and graphic design for two years, both of which he continues to practice today. While attending Flagler College, Alec worked as a part time traveling sub sales representative for Quiksilver where he assisted the Florida sales rep in selling the brands product line to numerous accounts in the state, as a barista in the service industry for The Kookaburra coffee company where he assisted in opening 3 different new locations in Saint Augustine, and as the Head Director for Surf Station’s surf camp where he ran multiple camp locations as well as customer relations. Since graduating Flagler College, Alec has started his own surf school, known as The WSMS Surf Art Camp, which is headed into its 5 th year of business. His surf school includes a year-round afterschool program for the local community, in addition to the three summer programs offered; Surf Art Music 4-day Camp, Surf Art Music Micro Grom 2-day camp, and an All-Surf 2-day camp for Teenagers & Adults. In addition to his surf school, Alec is a co-owner in a trademarked apparel brand known as “Where Salt Meets Soul”, which aims to spread awareness of sustainable fashion options and to positively impact the local community to come together to appreciate and respect their environment and neighbors. One could find the Where Salt Meets Soul product at The Surf Stop, a local saint Augustine beach surf boutique Alec and his family started together almost 5 years ago. Alec’s passions of having a positive impact amongst his local community guides his future career in real estate.
