Merry in Melbourne
Melbourne is making the most of the season. Its Historic Downtown’s Candlelight Shopping event happens on December 21 with carolers, carriage rides, Santa and treats. The Art Galleria of Viera’s Makers Market continues through December 24 for artisan gifts like handblown glass ornaments. Local productions of holiday performances include the Galmont Ballet Nutcracker, “Elf: The Musical” and “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
For last-minute holiday shopping, visit the Royal Poinciana Plaza. The center introduced a bunch of stores like New York import LoveShackFancy for romantic, vintage-inspired fashions and home décor. Shop women’s and girl’s ready to wear such as hand-dyed silk dresses, knits and swimwear. Oscar De La Renta also launched its first retail location on the island, a pop up through June 30, 2020.

Society Supper Club
Swifty’s, the iconic Manhattan eatery for Upper East Side society that shuttered in 2016, will resurface as a pop up at the Colony Palm Beach hotel sometime during Christmas week and last through April. Original owner Robert Caravaggi is involved, and local design firm Kemble Interiors renovated the dining space.
