Over the Moon
With the weekend’s full moon, there will be plenty of moongazing on February 8 for a special cause. The Moon Over Morikami gala raises funds for the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens’ exhibits, education and projects. South Florida-based Libido band performs, while an astronomer will set up his telescope for guests. Non-attendees can purchase raffle tickets.

Foosaner First Friday
Located in Melbourne’s Eau Gallie Arts District, the Foosaner Art Museum is the hub for First Friday Gallery Walks. Its monthly jazz jam starring Winston Scott starts at 5:30 on February 7. Tour “Crosscurrents: Contemporary Selections from the Rodriguez Collection of Cuban Artists” with 50 works by artists like José Bedia. Char Goodman performs during the season’s final jazz performance on March 6.

Nantucket’s Lola 41 has become a snowbird. Known for a hybrid of American comfort food and pan-Asian favorites, the bistro opened a second location in the pending White Elephant Palm Beach boutique hotel. The mix ranges from a tuna burger with wasabi mayo and lobster lo mein to chopped salad and steak. Its extensive sushi menu further adds to the island’s Echo and Imoto restaurants.

Dishing on Dressing
Come meet Vanity Fair’s Amy Fine Collins (special correspondent) and Reinaldo Herrera (a former contributing editor) at the Society of Four Arts on February 13. The style setters will share stories about legendary fashion figure Eleanor Lambert, founder of the International Best-Dressed List. Lambert passed the baton to the magazine in 2002, and Collins wrote a book about the tradition.
