“Sotheby’s are being heroes in this fight and producing groundbreaking auctions. The theme of this year’s auction is light.” – Bono
Just in time for Art Basel! We are proud to collaborate with The Sotheby’s Auction House to present (RED) Auction exhibition showcasing contemporary art and design. Curated by Theaster Gates and Sir David Adjaye and held at the iconic Moore Building in Miami, the auction will feature contemporary art and design donated by Jeff Koons, Marilyn Minter, Sean Scully, Sir Jony Ive, Jennifer Guidi, Wangechi Mutu, and Marc Newson among other prominent artists and designers including a piece by Zaha Hadid.
“In a world where everybody’s just doing, artists are somehow in this incredible space of being able to think and look at the world. If creatives were a part of reflecting on what we can do to get more information out, more knowledge out, more love out, then there might be other ways that we can look at problems like AIDS and find interesting solutions.” – Sir David Adjaye
On December 5, 2018, Sotheby’s, Gagosian and (RED) will hold the third (RED) auction. All proceeds will go to the fight against AIDS through the nonprofit founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver in 2006 to transform the collective power of consumers worldwide into a force of lifesaving aid.

To date, (RED) has generated more than $500 million for the Global Fund to support lifesaving HIV/AIDS programs in Africa. Proceeds from this year’s auction will continue to support community-based efforts in Africa through the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, while also providing assistance to the HIV fight through community-strengthening programs in Chicago with the Rebuild Foundation – an organization championed by Theaster Gates.
