Curate by Sotheby’s International Realty℠ takes virtually staged images from a flat, 2-D screen into the house itself through AR on a mobile device. At this time, the app features a curated selection of AR interior designs, ranging from modern living rooms to traditional dining rooms. The consumer is able to easily, and immediately, swap amongst these different styles.
The app will allow our associates to present listings in a personalized and tailored way to potential buyers, alleviating the need to stage homes and lessening the need for imagination on the part of the client to see how their particular design style will work within a space. Sotheby’s worked closely with Google in the run up to Google’s release of ARCore, their augmented reality software program. The Sotheby’s AR app was built with Google’s ARCore, and will bring a home’s virtual stagings from perception to reality, allowing users to visualize a house as their own before purchase, adding a new level of curation to the home-buying experience. This additional service is the newest way our agents will be able to find home buyers the home of their dreams.
