Cultured. Educated. Savvy. Those are just some of the adjectives used to describe the female brokers of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty.

For Mayi de la Vega, being part of the ONE Sotheby’s International Realty family is about more than working at a real estate firm; it’s about becoming part of a global brand that’s synonymous with professionalism, purpose and poise. Under de la Vega’s leadership, ONE Sotheby’s International Realty has grown to include agents who represent some of the most exclusive properties throughout Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Martin counties while offering real estate expertise and counsel accumulated through their vast travels and interactions with some of the world’s thought leaders.

The women featured in this story are staunch supporters of the vision of One Life magazine; they have embraced the idea that design, architecture and the arts can and should be a part of everyday life.

No one appreciates a sharp agent—male or female—more than de la Vega, who founded the firm in 2008. With nearly 30 years of real estate wisdom, de la Vega has seen how the South Florida market transformed from a small beach town for vacationers into the international hub it is today.

Understanding the power of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, de la Vega has expanded the firm to 750 real estate associates in 14 offices across South Florida to help customers through the process of buying or selling their homes.
“In my opinion, we are led by one of the strongest and most influential women in 􏰀real estate,” says Broker-Vice President Sandra Tagliamonte.
After all, de la Vega understands that real estate agents are also ambassadors of the community. Passionate about social activism, de la Vega sits on the board of CIFO and is a member of United Way’s esteemed Tocqueville Society. Additionally, she is a “Guardian Angel” of the Jackson Health Foundation.
Avid supporters of the arts, de la Vega and her son, Daniel, the firm’s president, have also made ONE Sotheby’s International Realty the official real estate partner of the National YoungArts Foundation. The partnership has already proved fruitful, with the firm curating a custom collection of student artwork that is currently displayed at ONE Sotheby’s Miami Beach office.
“As a female Realtor at ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, you are not just a powerhouse; you are part of a highly ethical, caring, supportive power family that recognizes women’s talents and potential, and provides them with the tools to achieve their best,” says Alexandra Petera-Rutten, a senior global real estate advisor.

ONE Sotheby’s International Realty global reach is unmatched. The direct affiliation with Sotheby’s and Sotheby’s International Realty offers the company unparalleled exposure—an attribute sellers reap the full benefit of as their homes receive prime visibility in a network of more than 20,000 associates in more than 65 countries and territories.

“No other company in the world has the marketing power, customer service, reach and drive,” says Lana Bell, a luxury real estate broker who in 2015 and 2016 became the No. 1 sales agent in Miami-Dade and Broward counties out of more than 47,000 agents.

Real estate agent Anna Sherrill echoes Bell’s statement. “No other company I have worked with has the global name recognition that ONE Sotheby’s International Realty has,” Sherrill says. “You also find a standard of excellence wherever you go.”

Real estate associate Inga Boutboul, who works with high-end European and American clients, agrees. “I’m so happy to be part of such a worldwide brand for over five years,” she says.

The company’s worldwide name recognition and respect in the industry is one reason Diane Lieberman elected to sell her South Beach International Realty to ONE Sotheby’s International Realty and de la Vega in 2015. “When I thought about selling my company, I knew my biggest assets were my agents,” Lieberman says. “I was courted by multiple companies. However, I chose ONE Sotheby’s International Realty because I wanted to bring my agents to the only global company in South Florida—one that represents the wealthiest buyers and sellers and one whose card my agents would be proud to carry.”

Susan Gale, executive director of commercial and luxury specialty properties, agrees. “I am the perfect fit for ONE Sotheby’s International Realty because it aligns with my affluent and sophisticated VIP clientele,” she says. “They all know the brand.”

ONE Sotheby’s International Realty also extends state-of-the-art tools to its agents, including skills that translate to its global customers. “ONE Sotheby’s International Realty is constantly advancing in offering tools for new technology and in offering networking venues with Sotheby’s offices around the country,” says Joelle Oiknine, a senior global real estate advisor.

Perhaps de la Vega says it best when speaking of the high-quality female brokers associated with ONE Sotheby’s. “These women are part of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty because they are the ultimate professionals,” she says. “They are super-moms, smart, well-traveled, savvy, cultured and, most importantly, they share my vision and desire to support all our efforts.”
