MANDOLIN MARKET

With its Instagram-ready place settings and addictive mezze dips, Mandolin Aegean Bistro was bound to add a market for diners to take home its winning hospitality formula. The tiny retail component in its annex is just a sneak peek of the lifestyle store with a breakfast and lunch café set to open in fall. Mandolin founder Anastasia Koutsioukis, a.k.a. Mrs. Mandolin, edits its small but exceptional assortment of imported delicacies, home wares and gifts. Pick up Eleia’s first-press extra virgin olive oil from a grove in the west Peloponnese; pickled red peppers, which are grown in northern Greece and roasted over the fire, and multi-grain breadsticks loaded with seeds. Serve your spread on stylish tableware like m/O santimetre’s porcelain pieces made on the coast of Turkey.

ALCHEMIST ADDITION

Alchemist boutique in Miami Beach introduced a namesake lifestyle collection. Its unisex fashions feature luxury materials like supple leather, exotics skins and fur but with a twist through their casual styles like tracksuits, T-shirts and jeans. Many pieces are adorned with custom treatments, often done by hand, including distressed fabrics and metal piercings. Founders Roma and Erika Cohen also commissioned exclusive works from emerging artists. Awol Erizku, who photographed Béyonce’s pregnancy portraits, designed a hand with a single stem rose; Othelo Gervacio’s “Paradise Lost” bleeds down the front of tops and jackets, and Warren Lotas’s grim reaper creeps onto soft baja hoodies, only juxtaposed with a palm to play up the Florida connection. The couple plans to expand into candles, fragrance and workout wear.
