SWIMMING IN SEAFOOD

If you’ve visited Atlanta, chances are you’ve dined with Buckhead Life. The restaurant group’s expansion south to Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale now counts the brand-new Lobster Bar Sea Grille on the highly visible corner of Fifth Street and Washington Avenue in Miami Beach. They did a great job in carving up the massive space into a main dining room inspired by New York’s Grand Central Oyster Bar, where even the curved vaulted ceiling is covered in subway tiles, private events spaces, and a bar already packed with South of Fifth residents. There’s a large outdoor terrace, too. Specialties of the house are lobsters done any style, such as rare blues flown in from Nova Scotia and meaty morsels in a tomato lobster marinara over tagliatelle pasta.

NIGHTS FOR NATURE

Why have one Earth Day when you can have two? Miami Beach Botanical Garden gets a head start by celebrating Mother Nature tomorrow night. For a mere $15, enjoy a Tropical Vinyasa yoga class, Broker Shaker bar and screening of a National Geographic documentary on the Great Lawn. Reserve tickets here. On April 22, the official Earth Day, the Miami Beach Edition donates all proceeds from its sunset pool party to Surfrider Foundation’s Miami chapter. The nonprofit protects oceans and beaches worldwide. For a suggested donation of $30, guests will be treated to a photography exhibit of endangered species, natural skin care and cosmetics bar by Gee Beauty, and music from the likes of electronic acts Sainte Vie and Goldcap. RSVP here.

SCREEN & SLURP

Some old-time treats are still around, only they’re reinvented for a new generation. CMX, Mexico’s state-of-the-art, dine-in cinema experience, premieres its first U.S. screen in red carpet-style at Brickell City Centre on April 27. The private event features a Great Gatsby theme and performance by the Hot Sardines. CMX is known for amenities where technology meets movies. Purchase tickets, fare and cocktails by a mixologist through its geo-targeted app, and sit back in your oversized, reclining seat for an audiovisual adventure. If you’re still hungry and thirsty after the film, head to Vicky’s House Milkshake Bar and Tasting Room in Coconut Grove. The strange name is a nostalgic ode to owner Matt Kuscher’s mom’s circa-Eighties kitchen (pictured). He used old photos to recreate her Formica counters and earth-tone wallpaper to a T.
