JMH Development LLC has embraced and advanced a new trend in the real estate market for selling high-end properties. The developer, currently working on the Three Hundred Collins project in Miami, has pledged to donate to charity for each unit sold. JMH has partnered with charity: water, a nonprofit organization providing clean water to communities in developing countries, pledging to donate $20,000 for each seven-figure condominium sold at Three Hundred Collins.

Specifically, the donations will go to the Relief Society of Tigray (REST) in Ethiopia and Splash (formerly A Child’s Right) in Nepal. Through this partnership JMH Development is bringing clean, safe water to more than 650 Ethiopian and Nepalese locals. Previously, companies have donated a lump sum upon completion of a project; JMH is one of the first to base donations off individual unit sales.

As a selling strategy, charitable donations make projects and their developers stand out to the community. Socially conscious buyers will appreciate this move toward global responsibility, while those drawn to the building already are given extra incentive to purchase units. Jason Halpern is the Founder and Managing Partner of JMH Development.

In his personal life Halpern commits time and resources to charitable programs. He is heavily invested in the Joel A. Halpern Trauma Center at Westchester Medical Center, a Level I Trauma Center. The Trauma Center offers a number of services including open-heart surgery, orthopedic surgery and care for burn victims and pregnant women. JMH Development was featured in a Wall Street Journal article about donating to charity: water. Read the full article here.
