Fisher Island is stepping up its grocery game. The bridgeless, private community off South Beach tapped Giorgio DeLuca, half of the famous duo behind New York’s Dean & Deluca gourmet emporiums, and Richard Bloch, the uber-hospitality architect, to redesign its 6,000-square-foot market. DeLuca, who has never been known to hold back in the delicacies department, went hog wild with assortment: NY strip from Allen Brothers, fresh-squeezed lemonade, French cheeses like Fougerus and Banon Vache de Chalais, buttery baked goods from a Brittany transplant, crates of organic produce, fresh-cut flowers, and wines focusing on small growers from around the globe. We hear Epicure crying already.
