Downtown Miami residents and visitors can breathe a sigh of relief because three new transportation services are now cutting their time spent sitting in traffic and looking for parking. Pedicabs, water Taxis and Trolleys are offering new alternatives to navigate and enjoy the best of what Miami has to offer.
Pedicabs are now the hottest rides cruising down Biscayne Boulevard. Spotted from Marlins Stadium and around Brickell and the American Airlines Arena, the colorful passenger carts are pulled by athletic chauffeurs who work on tips and know all the shortcuts to get around the area quickly. The pedicabs operate from Wednesdays through Sundays from non to 2:00am.
If you’re leaving the mainland and venturing towards the beach then do with style in a Water Taxi. These vessels offer hop-on, hop-off service, which make it the ideal mode of transportation for a day of sightseeing along Miami’s waterways. With seven convenient stops ( Bayside, Eden Roc, Finnegan’s on the River, Miami Yacht Club, Miami Beach Marina, River Walk Station and Sea Isle Marina) it’s a great way to take in Miami’s breathtaking views that are usually missed when on the road. A single trip is $12, a round-trip pass is $20 and an unlimited pass costs $30. The Water Taxis also offer private charters for large groups and private events. Recently inaugurated, the Miami Trolleys are making their way around the Health District and the Marlins Stadium. Starting in May a new route will include service in Brickell and Biscayne Boulevard spanning from the Financial District all the way to Margaret Pace Park (close to 17th Street and Biscayne Blvd.) The trolleys run about every 15 minutes with service beginning at 6:30am to 11pm on Mondays through Saturdays, and to make it even better, the ride is always FREE!
